The Administration
In terms of the provisions of the
Accountants Act, the affairs of the Institute are managed by the
Council, which is elected in line with the same Act. The Council
is effectively the Governing Board of the Institute. The
functions of the Council are carried out by sub-committees made
up of volunteers.
The work of Council and sub-committees is co-ordinated on the
day to day basis by the Secretariat. The head of the Secretariat
is the Chief Executive Officer, who is responsible for long
range strategy and work plan of the Institute, as well as the
day to day running of the Secretariat. The structure of the
Secretariat currently stands as depicted by the organogram.
The Chief Executive Officer works with the Presidential
Committee on matters requiring immediate attention. These they
do on behalf of Council. The Presidential Committee is made up
of the following people:
