DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE
 

Objectives:

1. Take disciplinary action against accountants for non-compliance with IFRS, ISA, Accountants Act, LIA Regulations and other relevant promulgations.
    
2. Take disciplinary action against accountants for unethical and unprofessional behavior and for putting the accounting profession into disrespect.

Specific Terms of Reference

1. Formulation of disciplinary rules and regulations.
    
2. Revision of disciplinary rules and regulations from time to time to be in line with IFAC guidelines, especially SMO 6, for approval by the Council.
    
3. Advice the Council of the relevance of Accountants Act on the issue relating to disciplinary procedures.
    
4. Enforcement of the disciplinary process of members of the Institute.
    
5. Recommendation to the Council on disciplinary penalties to be imposed.
    
6. Advice the Council on any matter related to the discipline of members.
