EDUCATION & TRAINING COMMITTEE

Objectives

1. Ensure production of professional accountants.

2. Ensure provision of life-long training of professional accountants

Specific Terms of Reference:

1. Ensure LIA educational programmes are of world class standard (i.e. through joint examinations schemes such as LIA/ACCA Scheme and the planned LIA/SAICA Scheme, CIPFA etc.).

2. Ensure tuition providers of the LIA educational programmes meet necessary basic standards prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and professional standards prescribed by LIA.

3. Ensure LIA students gain practical experience through attachments to prospective employers

4. Monitor LIA students progress while on attachments

5. Design and develop Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program and ensure LIA members regularly go through the program.

6. Support the CAS students’ Free Enterprise (SIFE) programme in Lesotho.
