The Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) is organizing a two days seminar on Public Sector Accounting on the 25-26 (First Group) and 27-28 August 2009 (Second group), respectively. The seminar will be held at Lehakoe Recreational Centre, starting from 8:30 hrs.

Expected to attend this seminar are the following:

• Accountants in different sectors (private, public, and practice)

• Internal and External Auditors

• Directors and line managers/supervisors

• Academics and lecturers of public sector accounting

Learning Outcomes of the Seminar are as follows:

• The International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) on cash accounting.

• Annual Financial Statements prepared using IPSAS.

• Annual Financial Statements prepared using Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS).

• Cash basis Accounting method vz Accruals Accounting method.

• Code of good ethics and governance of public finances.

The fees are M1, 800.00 for members of LIA and M2, 000.00 for non-members of LIA.
