LESOTHO INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANTS / CHARTERED INSTITUTE PUBLIC FINANCE AND ACCOUNTANCY EXAMINATIONS
Brief introduction
Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA), Center for Accounting Studies (CAS) together with Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) are jointly working together to equip accountants in the public sector.
The three organisations are jointly offering a qualification in public sector accounting called the Chartered Public Sector Finance and Accountancy Qualification
The aim of this qualification is to strengthen the public finance administration with relevant and appropriate skills. This program is fully financed by the government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Finance. LIA and CIPFA have the full responsibility registering students and administering examinations while CAS provide tuition.
The Center for Accounting Studies as the main tuition provider, also determines the admission requirements for eligible students to pursue the programme.
The Qualification
The qualification has four levels, each of which marks completion stage and certification. the four levels are comprised of a total twelve (12) examination papers to be sat as shown below:

The Lesotho Institute of Accountants currently administers two exam sessions:

Exam delivery method
LIA and CIPFA offer paper based exams (PBE) at a designated center.
